Why Our Customers Choose Rent-to-Own

No Credit Check - Ever

RTO is a rental agreement, not a loan. There's no credit pull, no application on your credit report, and no long waits for approval.

No security deposit

Your first payment is simply your first month's rent, plus tax. That's it: no deposit, no down payment - no "two months up front."

Low monthly payments

Choose a 24, 36, 48 or 60-month term. A longer term means a smaller payment, so you can set it wherever your budget is comfortable. Your payment is locked in the day you sign and never goes up.

Free delivery and setup

Free within 50 miles of your dealer, and we level and set the building for you. Your next monthly payment is not due until 30 days after it's sitting in your yard.

Own it over time

Make your payments through the end of your term and the building is yours automatically: no balloon payment and no last-minute surprise at the finish line.

Pay it off early, any time

Have enough to pay your building down? Do it any time. There's no early payoff penalty, and paying early costs you less. Ask your local dealer for your exact payoff terms.

Rent-to-Own: How it Works

Step 1: Pick your building

Walk your local dealer's lot and take home something that's in stock today, or design exactly what you want in our 3D Builder and we'll build it. Sheds, lofted barns, garages, cabins, workshops - if we sell it, it can go on a rent-to-own plan.

Step 2: Sign and pay your first month's rent

No credit check. No security deposit. You'll pick your term (24 to 60 months), your dealer walks you through the agreement, and you pay your first month's rent plus tax. That's all it takes to start.

Step 3: We deliver it

Free delivery and setup within 50 miles of your dealer. We level the building and hand it over ready to use. Your next monthly payment isn't due until 30 days after delivery.

Monthly RTO Payments in Perspective

Your monthly RTO payment comes down to two factors: the list price of your building and the length of the term you choose. A longer term = a smaller monthly payment and higher total cost of ownership. A smaller term = a higher monthly payment and lower total cost of ownership.

Here's a real example from our 2026 catalog: a 10x20 Pro Series Utility with Side Door and Two Windows, priced at $5,725.00.

Stop Renting Storage. Start Owning It.

An infographic panel comparing the cost of renting a storage unit forever versus a 36-month Rent-to-Own shed plan, showing that RTO costs less overall and results in owning a backyard building with round-the-clock access.

For many of our customers, the alternative to RTO isn't paying cash: it's paying every month for a storage unit that they are already renting across town - one with a gate code, business hours, and a rate that quietly goes up year by year.

A 10×20 storage unit runs somewhere around $175 a month in many areas. Pay that for five years and you've spent $10,500 - but in the end you own nothing. You hand in the keys and walk away empty handed.

Put that same money toward a 10×20 building of your own on a 36-month rent-to-own plan. You'll spend $9,542 - less than the five-year cost of a storage unit - and at the end of it there's a building in your backyard with your name on it. After two years the storage renter is still writing checks - you own your building free and clear.

Three Ways to Finish Your RTO Plan

Pay it down early

Pay off your RTO plan at any time for a discounted total cost of ownership with no early payoff penalty. The sooner you pay down your plan, the less you pay overall.

Rent the full term and own it

Make every scheduled payment and the building becomes yours automatically at the end. No balloon payment, no final step to remember.

Return the building

Moving somewhere, or found out the building doesn't suit your needs? Give it back at any time with nothing further owed. A building on an RTO plan is a rental. Until you own it, you can return it at any time.
